David A. Jacobs, Sr., 80, of Elyria, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.He was born November 29, 1932 in Elyria where he has been a lifelong resident and was a United States Army veteran. David was employed as a tool and die maker at Moen Incorporated in Elyria from 1950 until retiring in 1995. He attended First Baptist Church in Elyria and other interests included fishing, boating and working on his computer.David is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patricia A.; daughters Laura Yanick of Bay City, MI and Cynthia (Mark) Hoopes of Oil City, PA; son David A. (Lori) Jacobs, Jr. of Magnolia, TX; step daughter Tina (Bill) Baney of Jonesboro, Arkansas; stepson Timothy Sherwood of Elyria; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a brother Donald Jacobs of Irvine, CA.He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Ruth Jacobs; brothers William, Paul and Ralph Travis and Richard Jacobs and a sister Eleanor Rosenau.Friends will be received Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria. A funeral service will be Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral hone with Reverend Patrick Odle officiating.Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
