David A. JoviakDavid A. Joviak, 76, of Elyria, died January 26, 2017. Born January 27, 1940 in Elyria, he was a 1957 graduate of Elyria High School and served with the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962. In 1981, David received an associate degree from Lorain County Community College. For 10 years, he was employed at Lear Siegler in Elyria and then for 35 years as a fuel systems specialist at Parker Hannifin Corporation in Elyria, retiring in 2002. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and a member and volunteer for Lorain County Metroparks. He and his family enjoyed camping and canoeing. David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy J. (nee Barndollar); sons, Nathan (Denise) Joviak of Macedonia, Ohio and Kurt (Coreen) Joviak of Grafton, Ohio; grandchildren, Derek (Nicole), Kristin (Rob), Nicholas, Katherine, Kassandra, Kailyn and Kalyssa. He was preceded in death by his parents Clement and Tula Joviak and a brother, Robert Joviak. Friends will be received Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 11400 LaGrange Rd., Elyria. A service will be Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Reverend Patrick Odle officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, where Elyria V.F.W #1079 will present military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria.
