David A. LaingDavid A. Laing, 70, of Elyria died July 29, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born September 2, 1946 in Wyandotte, Michigan. David was a 1965 graduate of Solon High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio Northern University. He also received a Master of Science degree from Texas Woman’s University. He served as a lieutenant in the US Navy during the Vietnam era. For fifteen years he was employed as a mechanical engineer at Cleveland Gear Company, Cleveland, OH, retiring in 2015. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Elyria.David is survived by his wife of forty six years, Glynis (nee: Johns) and sons, Steven Laing of Brooklyn, NY and Jeffrey Laing (Mary Lutz) of Costa Mesa, CA.He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Edith Laing and a brother, Bruce Laing in 2014.
