David L. Carpenter, 59, of Grafton, died July 13, 2016.He was born August 25, 1956 in Dodge City, Kansas. He was a former Elyria resident and a 1974 graduate of Midview High School. David was committed to his job as a Programmer/Journeyman Machinist at Kalt Manufacturing Company, North Ridgeville where he had been employed since 1979. He was a member of North Eaton Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon, was a former Trustee and participated in the annual church chili cook off. He enjoyed time with his family, especially cooking for them, playing the guitar, travel and attending movies and concerts.David is survived by his wife of 38 years, Laura L. (nee Lottman); children, Kelly (Vincent) Rose of LaGrange, Michael Carpenter and Cynthia (Zachary) Jefferson, both of Elyria; grandchildren, Riley, Wyatt, Sophia, Troy, David and Joel; brothers, Al and Danny Carpenter and a sister, Debra Santacrose.He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Dorthey Carpenter; a brother, William and a sister, Dale.Friends will be received Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A service will be Monday July 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at North Eaton Christian Church, 35895 Royalton Road, Grafton. Reverend Charles A. Butcher will officiate.
