David L. PummellDavid L. Pummell, 50, of Penfield Township, died suddenly in his home April 26, 2018. He was born September 26, 1967 in Elyria and was a 1986 graduate of Keystone High School. In 1990 he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo. For twenty three years David was employed as a parole officer for the State of Ohio, retiring in 2013. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Elyria and a former church deacon and also a member of Fraternal Order of Police. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State University and enjoyed gardening.David is survived by his wife of twenty seven years, Daphne (nee: Holloway); daughter, Desiree and future son-in-law, Eric Nielsen; son, Derek Pummell; father, Gary (Mary) Pummell; brother, Doug (Sue) Pummell and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Pummell in 2011.Friends will be received Monday April 30, 2018 form 4:00 to 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Elyria, 11400 LaGrange Road, Elyria. A service will be Tuesday May 1, 2018 at 1:30 PM in the church. Reverend Patrick Odle and Reverend Doug Pummell will officiate. Burial will be in River Road Cemetery, LaGrange Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elyria.
