David Lindell Obituary
David O. Lindell, 94, of Elyria, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 after a long illness. He was born March 18, 1925 in Warren, PA and a 1943 graduate of Elyria High School. He was always very industrious, working on a paper route for the Chronicle-Telegram from elementary through high school. During WWII, he served with the US Navy in the South Pacific. He began his career at General Industries as an engineer and sales representative, then was promoted and transferred to the Arkansas division of General Industries as head of Inspection and Quality Control of electric motors. Another promotion to Personnel Manager followed, and ultimately David became the Arkansas Plant Manager. Following his retirement after 30 years at General Industries, he was employed at three diverse businesses, working until the age of 80, when he was able to enjoy his time reading and observing nature. David was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in both Arkansas and Ohio for over 50 years serving as a Deacon and Elder. David was a loving husband and father and is survived by his daughters, Dana Petrarca and Valerie Trice both of Las Vegas, NV. and Laura Lindell (Kenneth Harden) of Elyria; grandchildren Heather Deede and Ryan Trice of Las Vegas, NV., and Emily Harden of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Vangeline Ann (nee Johnson) Lindell in 2017. There will be no services.
