David Hower Obituary
David P. Hower, 78, of Elyria, passed away August 6, 2023 in his home following a 2 ½ year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born February 7, 1945 in Baltimore, MD and was a 1963 graduate of Elyria High School. From 1963-1967 he served with the US Air Force. For 30 years, Dave was employed at Parker Hannifin as an assembly line supervisor. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. Dave is survived by his wife of 55 years, Peggy A. (nee Koverman); his son, David Hower, Jr.; mother, Lorraine and brothers, Stanley (Bonnie) and Harry (Calean) Hower. He was preceded in death by a son, Jason Hower in 2018; father, Wilbur R. Hower and a sister, Mary Jane Ross. Friends will be received Friday, August 11, 2023 from 11:00 am until the time of a 1:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Pastor Chris Ross will officiate and Elyria VFW Post 1079 will present military honors. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery at a later date. A special thank you is extended to nieces, Kim Britton and April Walters for their never-ending love and care they have showed Dave and all the support and assistance to Peggy during this time.
