David P. Kick, 77, of Elyria, died December 23, 2014 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center.He was born November 10, 1937 in East Cleveland, Ohio and was a 1955 graduate of West Geauga High School. For many years he owned and operated Kicks Sales and Service in Geauga County. David moved to Elyria in 1982 and was employed in sales for Polen Implement until 1999, after which he worked in inventory control at Nick Abraham Elyria Ford.David was a people person and enjoyed his work and spending time with family. He had a life long love of cars and enjoyed traveling in his new Ford Expedition. Other hobbies included photography and gun collecting. He was a member and former treasurer of Black River Lodge # 786 F & A.M., Elyria V.F.W. # 1079 and Elyria Eagles Club.David is survived by his wife of twenty seven years, Carol L. Kick; daughters, Jennifer (John) McLandrich of Chagrin Falls, son, Jonathan (Jenny) Kick of Chardon; grandchildren, Graham Richardson and Lauren and Dylan Kick; step son, Scott (Laura) Yakunovich of The Woodlands, Texas; step daughter, Deb (Scott) Stanfield of Oberlin; step grandchildren, Matthew Stanfield, Larissa, Vanessa and Natasha Yakunovich and Thayne Badgett. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Marie Kick.Black River Lodge # 786 F & A.M. will conduct a service Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Animal Protective League, 8503 Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria, OH 44035. .Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria.
