Dean Nuernberger, 89, a resident of Oberlin, died December 21, 2013. He was born January 5, 1924 in Wakefield, Nebraska and served with the United States Army in France during WWII. Dean was a retired professor from The Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He is survived by nieces, Linda West and Janis Masin and nephews, Richard and Dennis Nuernberger and several grand nieces and grand nephews all of Lincoln, Nebraska.Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara in 2009; brothers, Robert and Marvin Nuernberger and a sister, Faith Nuernberger.A graveside service will be Tuesday December 24, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin. Reverend Brian K. Wilbert, Rector of Christ Episcopal Church, Oberlin will officiate. Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria is handling arrangements.
