Della Simons Obituary
Della S. Simons, 86, of Lorain, a longtime resident of Elyria Township, died May 14, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She was born July 1, 1934 in Holly Grove, WV. Della was employed for several years at K-Mart in Lorain and then for thirteen years at Woolworths at Midway Mall retiring in 1992 as personnel manager. She was a foster parent and when able attended Midway Baptist Church. She and her husband had enjoyed spending the winters in Plant City, FL. Della is survived by a daughter, Judy L. (David) Krugman of Sheffield Township; son, Lee W. (Elizabeth) Simons, Jr. of Lorain; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and a sister, Rhoda Imogene Groggs of Charleston, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee W. in 2005; son, Keith E. Simons in 2012; grandchildren, Michael Simons and Alesha Ryan; sisters, Tressie Andrews, Juanita Long, Thresia Bailey and Glenna Wilfong and brothers, Glenn, Ruben and Harry Wilfong. Friends will be received Monday May 17, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Tuesday May 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Charles Keesee officiating. Burial will be in North Murray Ridge Cemetery, Elyria Township.
