Derek D James Christian, 27, of Elyria, died January 21, 2016.He was born November 17, 1988 in Norfolk, VA and was a U.S. Army veteran.He was currently pursuing an associate degree in environmental science from Lorain County Community College and was employed at Big Tree Landscaping. He was a physical fitness enthusiast and exercised regularly at the fitness centers.Dereks first love was his 5 year old son Caleb Christian. He is also survived by his father Jimmy Christian, Sr.; mother Christine Tyre; brothers Jimmy Jay Christian, Justin Christian, Jimmy John Christian, Jr. and Kevin Murphy; sisters Caressa Christian, Meghan Jolly, Shai-enna Christian and Kristy Housden.Friends will be received Monday January 25, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria.
