Diane Lynn FirestineDiane Lynn Firestine, 61 of Elyria, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home November 6, 2018. She was a lifelong resident of Lorain County since her birth July 31, 1957 in Lorain and was a 1975 Elyria High School graduate. She and her husband Gary were the previous owners of Auto Details in Elyria for 34 years. Jason Lowery, a long-time employee and loving friend, took over the company after Gary’s passing.The most important things in Diane’s life were her family, children, and grandchildren. She cherished her home in Grafton surrounded by caring neighbors. Her home was always open to her children’s friends as if they were her own. They always had a place at the family dinner table.She enjoyed sharing her beautiful hand-made baskets, catching up with her groups of high school and church friends. Diane loved hosting dinners for family and friends, and enjoyed sending thoughtful cards for all occasions.Diane is survived by her children, Thomas (Kristina) of Chicago, David (Jacquelyn) of North Royalton, James (Fiancée Kayla Mercer) of Elyria, and Kara of Grafton; sisters, Janet (Chris) Levan of Atlanta, GA and Beth Parsons of Longmont, Co.; grandchildren, Samuel, Molly, Jade, Mae and Alice.She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Gary in 2012; parents, Charles and Genene Slusher and mother-in-law, Maxine Firestine.The family would like to thank all of those who cared for Diane during her last days.A memorial service will be at Saturday 1:00 P.M. November 17, 2018 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 330 2nd Street, Elyria. Reverend Patrick Nicolino will officiate. Following the service friends will be received in the great hall of the church. Burial will be private in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue Cleveland, Oh 44110. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elyria.
