Donald Brent Yancer, 57, of Sheffield Village, died April 6, 2015 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. He was born November 2, 1957 in Elyria and was a 1976 graduate of Elyria High School. He was formerly employed as a car parts manager at Car Parts Warehouse, in North Olmsted and other auto dealerships.Dons passion was open wheel auto racing. He was a former driver and later a pit crew volunteer at Lorain County and Sandusky Speedways. He was also a follower of NASCAR.Don is survived by his wife of 25 years, Deborah L. (nee Shebek); son, Ryan (Jessica) Wirth of Elyria; grandchildren, Chloe and Jeffrey Wirth; mother, Evelyn J. Yancer (nee Reynolds); sisters, Kathleen Yancer of Sheffield Village, Donna (Gary) Cambarare of Elyria, Peggy Carruthers of Friends Woods, TX and a brother, Michael (Chris) Yancer of Edinburgh, IN; mother-in-law and step father-in-law, Robert and Joanie Kleinholz of Huron, Ohio and father-in-law, James Shebek of Elyria. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his father, Donald A. Yancer in 1998.Services for the family were Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Reverend Dalton D. Love officiated.
