Donald Eugene Pressnell, 82, of Elyria, died Wednesday January 25, 2012 at EMH Healthcare. He was born June 21, 1929 in Findlay, Ohio and was a 1947 graduate of Oberlin High School. Donald was a 37 year employee of Ridge Tool Company in Elyria, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and enjoyed camping, gardening and was formerly active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Donald is survived by sons, Gary L. (Jo) Pressnell and Larry A. (Sharon) Pressnell both of Elyria; grandchildren, Faith Pressnell, Lawrence and Patrick Pressnell; step-grandson, Michael Cogswell; 7 great grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren; brothers, Howard (Marilyn) Pressnell of Avon Lake and Wayne (Nancy) Pressnell of Valley City and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jean (nee: Nash) in 1997; son, Stanley E. Pressnell; daughter, Jean Marie Pressnell and sisters, Jeanette Kirschbaum and Betty Yoho; brother, Franklin Pressnell; father, Bob Pressnell; mother, Margaret Dick (nee: Wolfe) and a nephew, Scott Pressnell.Friends will be received Friday January 27, 2012 from 11:00 AM until the time of a 1:00 PM funeral service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue Elyria. Reverend Catherine L. Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association 1689 East 115 Street Cleveland 44106 or The Diabetes Association 3601 South Green Road, # 100 Cleveland 44122.
