Donald P. Mitchell, Sr.Donald P. Mitchell, Sr., 92, of Elyria, died May, 12, 2014 at his home after a lengthy illness.He was born August 23, 1921 in Cleveland and was a 1939 graduate of East Tech High School. Donald was employed as manager for Richman Brothers Clothing Stores throughout the area for 37 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed reading, talking politics, solving word puzzles and bird watching. He has been a resident of Elyria since 1973.Donald is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lisa L. (nee Walker); son Donald P. Jr. of Stow, OH; daughter Jennifer Mitchell of Lakewood; grandsons Jonathan Mitchell and Alex Mitchell, both of Columbus; granddaughter Kristina Steinberg of Palm Bay, FL; great grandchildren Hannah and Alex A.J. Schock and Ian Steinberg; brothers Kenneth Mitchell of Concord, OH and William (Sandy) Mitchell of Mentor.He was preceded in death by his first wife Joyce Mitchell; daughter Margaret Meszaros in 2003; sister Delores Schmidt in 2013; brother Paul Mitchell and parents Harry C. and Lula Mitchell.A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Reverend Chuck Behrens, chaplain of Hospice of the Western Reserve will officiate.
