Donna B. Slack, (nee Nay), 76, of Elyria, died September 25, 2014.She was born March 21, 1938 in Elyria and was a 1956 graduate of Elyria High School. In 1959, she graduated as a registered nurse from Mt. Sinai Hospital School of Nursing, Cleveland, Ohio. She was employed for 30 years as a registered nurse at Allen Memorial Hospital in Oberlin, retiring in 2001.Donna was a nature enthusiast and enjoyed camping, hiking and participating in the activities of Lorain County Metro Parks and parks throughout the state of Ohio. She traveled throughout the United States and internationally, including riding tour trains and steam powered trains.Donna is survived by a brother James A. (Patsy) Nay of Irmo, SC; nieces Laura Yarzebinski, Denise Walsh and Amy Fixis; nephews Mark and Jim Nay and several great and great great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her son Alan T. Slack in 1978 and parents Alfred and Charlotte Nay.A graveside service will be Friday, October 3, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion, OH.Memorial contributions may be made to Lorain County Metropolitan Park District, 12882 Diagonal Rd., LaGrange, OH 44050.Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, ElyriaFor online condolences, visit www.dickenfuneralhome.com
