Donnie E. Gannon, 78, of Elyria, died March 5, 2021. He was born March 14, 1942 in Kimper, KY and was a 1966 graduate of Johns Creek High School, KY. He moved to Elyria in 1968 and had been employed as a machinist at General Motors Fisher Guide, Elyria until his retirement in 1979. Donnie was a member of Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church and UAW Local 780. He was an avid reader of the Bible and Bible stories. Donnie is survived by his wife, Joyce G. (nee Crum); brother, Dannie (Mary) Gannon of Wellington; sister, Gladys Jean Varney of Kimper, KY and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Prue Gannon and 8 siblings. Friends will be received Monday, March 8, 2021 from 3:00 pm until the time of a 5:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Jason Keith officiating. A service will be Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 10:00am in Highland Memorial Park, Ky. Rt. 2275, Staffordsville, KY with Reverend Chester Ray Varney officiating. Covid-19 precautions will be observed, face masks are required.
