Dorothy L. “Dottie” Green, 91, of Elyria, went home to be with the Lord March 20, 2017. She was born June 20, 1925 in Irwin, PA, moving to Elyria in 1941 and was a 1943 graduate of Elyria High School. Dottie was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Alter Guild. She was a member and past president of Elyria Womans’ Club and past president of the Social Progress Department and past presidents club. She was a former worthy advisor of the Elyria Rainbow Girls. Most importantly she loved being a homemaker and caring for her family.Dorothy is survived by a sister, Grace Lounsbrough of Elyria; daughters, Kathy Fackler of Elyria and Nancy (Tom) Szabo of Grafton; son, Robert (Kelly) Green of Powell, OH; grandchildren, Jason (Kristin) Fackler, Justin (Samantha) Martz, Ryan (Jessica) Martz, Danielle and Sean Szabo and Kyle and Tyler Green; great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jacob, Juliana and Kieran Martz and Laine and Lee Fackler and nieces and great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty two years, George Stanley Green in 2010 and son-in-laws, Jeffrey Martz and David Fackler.Friends will be received Friday March 24, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A service will be Saturday March 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Reverend Paul E. Jaster officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Amherst Township.
