Dorothy E. Bruck (nee Shaffer), 91, of Elyria, died in her home March 11, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 2, 1929 in Elyria. Dorothy was a dedicated mother and provider to her 10 children. She had a giving spirit and lived a life full of love and humor. Dorothy enjoyed playing dominos, bus trips, reading, and spending time with her entire family. Dorothy is survived by her children, Edward, Patricia, Dennis (Cecelia), Tim (Julie), Tom (Judy), Ruth (Larry), Kenneth (Kelly), Rick (Kaoru) and Elaine (Vince) Zemanek; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Edward J. in 1977; son, Todd in 1964; grandson, Jeremy; granddaughter, Alicia; sister, Irene Kelm; and her parents. Friends will be received Monday, March 15, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Father Charles J. Ryba will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. COVID-19 precautions will be observed, face masks are required. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Elyria Salvation Army, 716 E.
