Dorothy L. Taylor (nee Davis ), 88, of Elyria, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Center Ridge Health Campus, North Ridgeville.She was born November 14, 1923 in Canton, Georgia. She received her degree as a licensed practical nurse from the Practical Nursing School of Elyria in 1961 and was employed at Elyria Memorial Hospital and Our Lady Of The Wayside from where she retired.She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Elyria, Order of the Eastern Star Sullivan, Chapter #499, and was an avid reader. Dorothy is survived by daughters, Nancy J. (Mike) Bally and Jennifer A. Taylor, both of Elyria; granddaughters, Kasey (Bob Freiberg) Bally of Chardon and Nicole Arra of Elyria; great grandsons, Alan and Jacob Freiberg and Michael and Matthew Arra. She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin D. Taylor in 1980 and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Edmisten. Friends will be received Friday May 4, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a 11:30 a.m. funeral service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Dalton D. Love officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
