Dorothy Mae Gross (nee Washington), 95, of Elyria, died October 05, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.She was born April 21, 1918 in Austin, TX and has been a resident of Elyria most of her life. She was formerly employed for 30 years at General Industries in Elyria, retiring in 1983. She was a member of True Vine Primitive Baptist Church in Elyria; Pastor James Furcion, Jr.Dorothy was a lifetime honorary member of Lorain County Historical Society and collected antiques and had formerly owned her own shop. She also enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family.Dorothy is survived by a grandson Caleb N. Gross of Elyria; sisters Artie Nell Vines of Muskegon Heights, MI and Margie Washington of Austin, TX and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband William N. Gross in 2000; son Ronald W. Gross in 2011 and brothers Ira and John Washington.Friends will be received Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of a noon funeral service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria.Elder Linda Charlie will officiate with burial in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.For online condolences, visit www.dickenfuneralhome.com
