Edward J. Easy E Sump, 75, of Elyria, died January 21, 2016 in his home after a lengthy illness.He was born April 29, 1940 in Elyria, was a 1958 graduate of Midview High School and in 1962, .received a bachelor degree in Business Administration from Ohio University. Ed enjoyed a longtime career as an industrial engineer with Ford Motor Company in Lorain, retiring in 1995. He was an active member of Vermilion Power Boats, serving as boat yard president and Commodore of Vermilion Power Boats Yacht Club. Other interests included hunting, fishing, sport cars and spending winters in Florida.Ed is survived by his wife of 51 years, Irene (nee Gelezius); sons Stephen (Elizabeth) Sump of Carlisle Township and Kenneth Sump of North Fort Myers, FL; granddaughter Heather Lamb Sump of Carlisle Township; sisters Judy Whidden and Virginia (Greg) Schindler, both of Avon.He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Kiersten Elise Sump in 2009; mother Virginia P. Sump in 2012; father Lloyd E. Sump in 1994 and a brother David Sump in 1984.The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick will be the celebrant.
