Edward Urban Obituary
Edward A. Skip Urban, 83, of Elyria, died, Monday, February 4, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, Ohio. He was born July 17, 1929 in Lorain and was a 1947 graduate of Lorain High School. Ed was a life long resident of Lorain and Elyria and a veteran of The United States Air Force. He worked at Lake Terminal Railroad for several years and then from 1959 until 1981 he was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Controller in Cleveland and Oberlin from where he retired. Ed was a member of Elyria United Polish Club and enjoyed playing golf, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Ed is survived by daughters, Christine (Robert) Messaros of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Constance Bosky of North Ridgeville; sons, Anthony (Brenda) Urban of Elyria and Scott (Alexandra) Urban, US Air Force retired of Bulgaria; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a sister, Helene Breudigam of Lorain.He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah in 2001 and parents, Tony and Margaret Urban.Friends will be received Friday February 8, 2013 from 12:30 PM until the time of a 2:30 PM memorial service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Charles J. Ryba will officiate. Burial will be in LaPorte Cemetery, Carlisle Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Life Hospice, 3700 Kolbe Road, Lorain, Ohio, 44053.
