Eleanor M. JohnsonEleanor M. Johnson (nee: Willison), 99, of Elyria, died, July 11, 2018 at Ames Family Hospice, Westlake, OH. She was born July 25, 1918 in Kent, OH. She formerly lived in Cambridge, OH and was a 1936 graduate of Brown High School. She moved to Avon in 1965 and Elyria in 1966. From 1965 until retiring in 1980 she was employed at Julian W. Perkins, Inc. in Elyria. Eleanor was a member of First United Methodist Church, Elyria where she was a volunteer with the weekly church bulletin, the monthly “Chimes” newsletter and also the church rummage sales. She was a member of London Chapter No. 386 O.E.S., London, OH. She enjoyed attending exercise classes and activities at East Park Recreation Center and continued her active lifestyle as a resident of Wesleyan Village.Eleanor is survived by daughters, Rebecca A. Halterman of Westerville, OH, Peggy J. (Bob) Miller of Menands, NY and Teresa J. (Jeff) Cassidy of Elyria; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a brother, Kenneth Willison of Chesapeake, VA.She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Wallace “Wally” Johnson in 2000; sons, Terry and Gary Johnson; daughter, Tish J. Smith and sisters, Irene Hipsley and Barbara Alexander.A memorial service will be Tuesday July 24, 2018 at 3:30 PM in the Chapel at Wesleyan Village, 807 West Avenue, Elyria. Reverend W. Kent Joy will officiate. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Wesleyan Village Foundation.
