Eleanor M. Smith Eleanor M. Smith (nee: Pomeroy), 89, of Elyria, died, November 27, 2017 in her home that she has lived in all her life. She was born February 5, 1928 in Elyria and was a 1945 graduate of Elyria High School. Eleanor attended Pilgrim United Church of Christ, enjoyed bus trips with her daughter and collected teddy bears.Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Claudia R. Nidiffer and daughter-in-law, Vicky L. Smith both of Elyria; grandchildren, Jeremiah Smith and Bridgett Jason; four great grandchildren and her cat, Mazie.She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty nine years, Karl W. “Snuff” Smith in 2006; son, Chad Smith in 2013; parents, Charles and Lucy Pomeroy and a half brother, Ray Cliff.Friends will be received Friday December 1, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of an 11:00 AM service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Pastor Troy L. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in North Ridgeville Cemetery.
