Elizabeth J. “Betty” MulliganElizabeth J. “Betty” Mulligan (nee Fell), 94, died peacefully surrounded by beloved friends November 9, 2018.A lifelong Elyria resident, she was born September 9, 1924 and was a 1942 graduate of Elyria High School. In 1964 she received a degree as a certified professional secretary and in 1984 received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Lorain County Community College. From 1950 until retiring in 1991 she was employed as an Administrative Assistant at All American Company in Elyria. Betty was a member and former Clerk of the Church Council at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, Elyria. She was a member of the Lorain County Historical Society and had been Secretary of the Board of Trustees. She was also a charter member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals, Cascade Chapter, Elyria. She had served on the Elyria Biographical and Historical Commission and had received the Rainbow Girls Grand Cross of Colors. For more than twenty years she was a volunteer at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. Betty is survived by her sister Marjorie (Boyd) Granzow, niece and nephews Elizabeth Goodwin (Guy Pilens), John (Carol) Granzow, David (Annalisa) Granzow, and great nephews and nieces Michelle, Steven, Rohan, and Sophie all of Australia; niece Catherine (Rafael) Haddock of Gulfport, Florida; nephew David Andrew Fell of Kirtland, Ohio; cousin Nancy Evans of Columbus, Ohio, and beloved friends.She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years James J. Mulligan; brother Gordon D. Fell; cousin Lila (John) Nagy; and parents Andrew and Elizabeth (nee Miller) Fell.A memorial service will be Saturday 1:00 PM December 1, 2018 at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 523 East Broad St. Elyria. Pastor Troy Smith will preside.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 523 East Broad St., Elyria, Ohio 44035 or the Lorain County Historical Society, 284 Washington Ave., Elyria, Ohio 44035.
