Elizabeth Gibbs Obituary
Elizabeth M. “Liz” Gibbs, 84, of Elyria, joined her Lord and Savior to rest in her eternal home July 13, 2023. She was born December 12, 1938 in Lynchburg, VA moving to Elyria with her husband in 1957. She had been employed for 25 years at Nordson Corporation in Amherst from where she retired. She was a lifetime member of Stone City Chapter #325 Order of the Eastern Star, Amherst serving 2 terms as Worthy Matron and appointed from the Grand Chapter as Grand Representative of Texas in Ohio in 2008. Liz was a member of Solid Rock Community Church, sang in the choir and had been bell choir director. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family. Liz is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kent A.; daughter, Kathy Gibbs; grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Maynard, Grant Gibbs and Joshua Gibbs; great-grandchildren, Jakob and Morgan Gibbs and Aubrey Maynard; sisters, June Taylor and Helen (Dan) Raidabaugh and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sons, Richard A. in 2013 and Kent A. in 2017; parents, Frank and Virginia Mays; sister, Barbara Cecil and a brother, Mike Mays. An Order of the Eastern Star Service and a memorial service will be Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00 am at Solid Rock Community Church, 680 North Abbe Road, Elyria with Reverend Kevin Coleman officiating.
