Emile L. Hoogenkamp, 49 of Sheffield Village, died June 22, 2016 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center.He was born September 4, 1966 in Gravenhage, Nederland.Emile realized his dream, coming to the United States in 2009 and was to become a U.S. Citizen in October of 2016. He was employed as a senior database administrator for Inteck Accenture. He enjoyed time with this family, nature, boating, soccer, bicycling, racing and his 2006 Ford Mustang. He was proud to be a Deputy Baton, Flag and Drum Corps dad. He was a member of numerous technical organizations and had been well known in Denmark for training German shepherds.Emile is survived by his wife, Dawn (nee Berkel); daughter Megan Berkel; sons Mike, Jimmy and Nick Flor and Ryon Berkel; granddaughters Victoria, Isabella and Regan; grandsons Dawson, William and Alexander; mother, Jane Mary Hoogenkamp and sisters, Miranda, Stephanie and Evelien; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Rijsard Hoogenkamp and a grandson, Carter Lee Berkel.Friends will be received Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A service will be Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Community of Faith United Church of Christ, 9715 East River Rd., Elyria with Reverend Kathryn Ketchum officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
