Emma Lou Henes (nee: Ellison), 84, of Elyria, and formerly of Grafton, passed away peacefully July 17, 2014 in her home following a long illness.She was born March 29, 1930 in Gassaway, West Virginia and moved to Ohio after high school. She has been a resident of Elyria the past twelve years.Emma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved fishing, camping, gardening, canning, sewing, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.She is survived by her husband of fifty nine and a half years, Richard Henes, Sr.; sons, Dave (Shirley) Ellison of Columbus and Richard (Mary) Henes, Jr., of Elyria; daughters, Clara Kay Henes of Rochester, Ohio and Reva (nee: Ellison); daughter-in-law, Sue Ellison of Elyria; fourteen grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren and brothers, Frank Ellison of Virginia and Richard Ellison of West Virginia.She was preceded in death by a son, Steve Ellison in 2009; brothers, Jack, John, Bill, Fred, Norvel and Orvel Ellison and sisters, Lucille Tolley and Mabel Moss.Friends will be received Wednesday July 23, 2014 from 4:00 PM until the time of a 7:00 PM service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Reverend Rick Stein Pastor of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association PO Box 74924 Cleveland, OH 44194-4924.
