Emma Merle Grimes, 77, of Elyria died Friday, May 31, 2013 at her home.She was born January 11, 1936 in Falls Mill, WV and had lived in Madison, Lorain and Elyria. Emma was formerly employed as a nurses aide at Wesleyan Village in Elyria and was also a private duty nurse. She was a member of the D.A.R. and had traced over 45,000 relatives.Emma is survived by a son Charles Edward Williams; daughters Hope Snyder, Melaney Jane Hyson, Marcie Brown and Donna Williams; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brothers Robert, Larry and Denver Westfall; sister Kathleen Appleman and two half brothers Charles and Ernest Westfall.She was preceded in death by her son Herbert W. Grimes in 1988; father Charles Westfall; mother Malvina McCoy; sister Zelma Durda and a grandson, Daniel Monroe.Friends will be received Monday, June 3, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of a 1:00 p.m. funeral service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria, Reverend Beth McKee, Chaplain of Wesleyan Village will officiate.
