Erin M. Adkins (nee: Jameson) 31, of Elyria passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends April 13, 2014 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. She was born June 24, 1982 in Oberlin and was a 2000 graduate of Elyria High School. She then received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from Ashland University. Erin has been employed by The Elyria City Schools since 2005, most of that time as a ninth grade English Teacher at Elyria High School. She had been an enthusiastic supporter and volunteer for The Elyria City Schools and attended many of the activities at Elyria High School. Erin enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, other family members and her cat, Gibby. She took pride in flower gardening and landscaping around her home.Erin is survived by her husband of ten years, Shawn M. Adkins; daughter, Shayna Adkins; son, Landry Adkins; father, Peter Jameson of Elyria; brothers, Kevin (Kerry) Jameson of Elyria, Brian (Jennifer) Jameson of Lorain; sister, Patti (Rick) Willard of Elyria; six nieces and three nephews.She was preceded in death by her mother, Lenora M. “Lee” Jameson in 2012.Friends will be received Thursday April 17, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A graveside service will be Friday April 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Reverend Beth McKee will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Gathering Place, 800 Sharon Drive Westlake, OH 44145.For visitation additional parking is available at Elyria High School.
