Esther G. Ellis (nee Boone), 93, died May 28, 2016 in her home at Wesleyan Village, Elyria, Ohio.She was born December 31, 1922 in Elmira, NY to Harris Jacob and Ruth Alfreda (nee Baker) Boone. Esther was a 1940 graduate of Hornell High School and attended Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL, where her fianc, Lloyd C. Ellis was a student. They were married August of 1943. As the wife of a Presbyterian minister, most of her life was devoted to being a homemaker and supporting her husband and the churches he served. In 2002, they moved to Wesleyan Village.Esther is survived by daughters Carol (Richard) Branting, Nancy Leskiw and Janet (Mark) Nowak; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and 2 sisters-in-law.She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lloyd C. Ellis in 2011.A graveside service will be Monday, June 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, Canesteo, NY. Reverend Craig A. Brittingham, pastor of Hillside Baptist Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesleyan Senior Living Foundation, 807 West Ave. Elyria, OH 44035. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria.
