Evelyn Rodgers Obituary
Evelyn J. Rodgers (nee Poling), 85, of Elyria, died August 15, 2019 at O’Neill Healthcare North Ridgeville where she has been a resident for the past several years. She was born October 6, 1933 in Rural Mondaycreek Township, Perry County, Ohio. Evelyn enjoyed attending country concerts, watching The Cleveland Indians, spending time with her family, and while living in her home, caring for her flower garden. Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Robin Hengartner (Gene), Kim Hollows (Jim), and Kelley Rodgers, all of Elyria; son-in-law, Tom Murray; grandchildren, Pat, Eric, Josh, Jason, Ryan, and Samantha; ten great-grandchildren; a special sister-in-law and friend, Bernie Poling. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jerry P. Rodgers in 2015; daughter, Linda Murray; parents, Franklin and Mary Poling; brothers, Burl, Ray, Roland, Warren, and Ralph Poling; and sisters, Frieda Stiverson and Wilma Bainter. Friends will be received Monday, August 19, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A funeral service will be Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
