Floyd E. Corn 71 of Elyria, died May 19, 2013 at his home.He was born January 25, 1942 in Belvidere, Tennessee and was educated in the Franklin County School System. He served with the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. Mr. Corn was employed at General Motors Fisher Guide in Elyria for 23 years and then at First Congregational United Church of Christ for several years until retiring.Floyd was an active member of Wind Beneath My Wings Christian Fellowship in Barberton Ohio, loved playing Bid Wiz, was a sports fan and enjoyed traveling and meeting new people.Floyd is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Eva Mae Corn, son Maurice (Erica) Corn, Sr. of Cleveland; grandson Maurice Corn Jr. of Elyria, who Floyd and Eva raised; daughter Latitia (Lavell) Corn-Ross of Cleveland; three additional grandsons; three granddaughters; two great grandsons; brothers Walter (Elizabeth), Joe (Irene) both of Elyria, Howard of Cleveland and Donald of Nashville TN; Sisters Frances Corn of Winchester, TN, Lula (James) Burnette of Sewanee, TN, and Doris Corn-Rogers of Nashville, TN. He also leaves to cherish his memory a sister-in-law Patilla Corn of Elyria, and the sisters and brothers of his wife Eva and a host of additional relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents William and Alberta Corn and a brother, Collier Corn.Friends will be received Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 5 p.m. until the time of a 7:00 p.m. funeral service at Original Church of God, 512 Edward Ave., Elyria, OH 44035. Pastor Rachael Neal will officiate. Burial will be Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH.
