Frank F. Tresch, 88, of Oberlin, died April 14, 2015 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin. He was born March 23, 1927 in Ithaca, New York. Frank was formerly employed in the Building and Grounds Maintenance Department at Oberlin College. For eighteen years he worked in Mechanical Maintenance at US Steel in Lorain, retiring in 1986. In addition to raising farm animals, he repaired and maintained his homes and was always willing to help others with their needs. Frank was a member of Church of the Open Door. His hobby was model trains and he also enjoyed traveling with his wife.Frank is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia A. (nee Crites); daughter Kathy Harrison of Wakeman; sister Leora Leach of Amherst and nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents William and Ethel Tresch; brothers Eugene in 2006, George in 1991 and a sister Constance Rose Bean in 1996.A memorial service will be Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the Sunshine Chapel at Church of the Open Door, 43175 Telegraph Rd., Elyria. Pastor Bob Wickens will officiate. Burial will be in South Murray Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Fund of Welcome Nursing Home, 417 S. Main St., Oberlin, OH 44074. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria.
