Gary J. ColemanGary J. Coleman, 67, of Elyria, died, November 29, 2017 unexpectedly at his home. He was born February 19, 1950 in Elyria and was a 1968 graduate of Elyria High School. After graduating Gary enlisted in The United States Navy where he served until his discharge in 1971. Gary was employed for thirty two years at Ohio Edison Company retiring in 2002. He was a life member of Elyria VFW # 1071 and enjoyed working on cars and attending car shows with his son.Gary is survived by a son, Robbie J. (Makenna) Coleman of Lorain and granddaughters, Gabrielle and Aaliyah Coleman.He was preceded in death by his mother, May Coleman in 2000 and his father, Howard Coleman in 2002.Friends will be received Tuesday December 5, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Elyria VFW # 1079 will conduct a graveside service at noon Thursday December 7, 2017 at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Memorial contributions may be made to Elyria VFW # 1079 Honor Guard 500 South Abbe Road, Elyria.
