Gary R. Earley, 77, of Avon Lake, died peacefully July 30, 2015 surrounded by family at Ames Family Hospice House, Westlake, Ohio.He was born September 20, 1937 in Akron, Ohio, and attended Lakewood High School. Following high school, he served honorably in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1954 through 1957. Gary was formerly employed by Columbia Gas and completed a 30 year career with the BF Goodrich Chemical Company in Avon Lake. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, riding motorcycles, and cheering for every Cleveland professional sports team.Gary is survived by his life partner of 28 years, Beverly Urban and her brother Richard Urban of Avon Lake; daughter Christine (Brian) Szabo and grandchildren Erin, Emily, Colin, and Paul of Richmond, Virginia; son Steven (Jennifer) Earley and grandchildren Megan and Scott of Hilliard, Ohio; brother Ronald (Penelope) Earley of Annandale, Virginia; nephew Matthew (Michelle) Earley, great-niece Piper; great-nephew Dalton of Arlington, Virginia; niece Amber (Jason) Cheung and great-nephew Cooper of Seattle, Washington.He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Flora Earley (Tenison). A memorial service will be Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 3:30pm at Avon Lake United Church of Christ, 32801 Electric Blvd., Avon Lake, OH 44012. Rev. Kelly Brill will officiate. A Veteran's burial service will be held Monday, August 17, 2015 at 11:00am at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, OH 44270. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ames Family Hospice House, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, OH 44145.
