Gary T. Firestine, 57, of Grafton, formerly of Elyria, died unexpectedly May 19, 2012 surrounded by his loved ones. Gary was born October 22, 1954. For the past 34 years he and his wife, Diane have owned Auto Details of Elyria. Prior to establishing Auto Details Gary was employed as a pipe inspector at US Steel in Lorain. Gary is survived by his loving wife, of 36 years, Diane (nee: Slusher); his adoring children, Thomas (Kristina) of Chicago, Dave (Jacque) of Toledo, Jim (Kayla) and Kara of Grafton; grandson, Sam; father, Dwight of Elyria; in-laws, Chuck and Genene Slusher of Elyria; beloved uncle, Gene Inskeep of West Liberty, Ohio; siblings, Patricia (Jody) Starling of Chesapeake, Virginia, Connie (Al) Linden of Elyria, Ron (Joan) of Boardman, Ohio, Mark (Kelly) of Elyria, Gail (Tim) Wiegand of Merrimack, New Hampshire; his dog, Nikki; many nieces, nephews and dedicated loyal employees.He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine and his special aunt, Kate Inskeep.Friends will be received Friday May 25, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A memorial service will be Saturday May 26, 2012 at 10:30 AM in First Congregational United Church of Christ, 330 Second Street, Elyria with Reverend Christina Kukuk officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 1689 East 115th St,, Cleveland, OH 44106-3988.
