Gary Leslie Obituary
Gary T. Leslie, 69, of Carlisle Township passed away October 12, 2022 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical center with his two daughters by his side. He was born January 17, 1953 in Oberlin and was a 1971 graduate of Elyria high where he played on the football team. Gary had been employed as a letter carrier for the USPS at the Elyria branch as well as Lake Havasu, Arizona where he retired in 2015. He returned to Elyria after retirement to spend time with his daughters and grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as “grumps”. He enjoyed fishing, camping, spending time with his grandchildren, and watching the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio state Buckeyes. Later in life, he enjoyed his morning walks and coffee. Gary is survived by daughters, Kristen Kelley and Joni (Brian) Washburn, both of Elyria; grandchildren David Jr., Donavin, Deakin, Kaiden and Madilyn; sister-in-law Brenda Leslie of Amherst; brother-in-law Dennis Moran of Lake Havasu Arizona; and ex-wife/good friend Carole Leslie of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary (née Matus) Leslie; brother, Carl Jr.; sister, Barb Moran, and a niece Lisa Moran. A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends. There are no gallery images.
