George E. Biggy Charley, 58, of Elyria, died March 7, 2014.He was born February 19, 1956 in Lorain and was an Elyria resident most of his life. He graduated from Elyria High School in 1975 and also from The Elyria Academy of Cosmetology. George was employed from 1975-1994 as a respiratory therapist at Elyria Memorial Hospital. He was a member and usher at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Lorain. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking and walking. Other interests included collecting antiques, attending flea markets and garage and estate sales. George is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elder Linda V. Charley; son, Reverend Montell D. (Nicole) Charley of Lorain; godson, Art Sutton, Jr.; son, Craig L. Bonton of Columbus; daughter, Shauntae M. Charley of Union City, Georgia; 7 grandchildren and additional children and grandchildren.He is also survived by his mother, Josephine Charley of Elyria; brothers, Stephen, Leroy, Ivory and Brian Charley all of Elyria; sisters, Beverly Amerson and Molly Charley both of Elyria and Janice Smith of Oberlin.He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Charley; son, Marcellis Bailey; brother, Samuel Tuggle and sisters, Katie Black and Marie Evans.Friends will be received Monday, March 10, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria.A funeral service will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1516 East 30th Street Lorain, Ohio with Donald K. Young, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
