Gerald Shroyer Obituary
Gerald W. Shroyer, 90, of Grafton Township, died October 23, 2016 at ONeill Healthcare Fairview Park. He was born December 5, 1925 in Elyria where he lived until moving to Grafton in 1961. During WWII Gerald served with the Army Air Force in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. Most of his working career was as a truck driver for Beiter Line and Lehman Cartidge. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had been church custodian. Gerald is survived by his children, Herbert (Carol) Shroyer, Patricia (Paul) Keressi, Timothy (Ruth) Shroyer, Cynthia (Steve) Farley and Clayton Shroyer; seventeen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty seven years, Helen Shroyer in 2013; grandson, Jacob Shroyer; parents, Loren and Myrtle Shroyer; brothers, Mearle, Steve, Elson, Herbert and Roy and sisters, Myrtle, Alta, June and Ruth.Friends will be received Friday October 28, 2016 from 11:00 AM until the time of a noon service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 12090 South Durkee Road, Grafton. Bishop Roy Canonizado will preside. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township where Elyria VFW # 1079 will present military honors. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elyria.
