Saddened to read of Gertrud's death. She was a good friend to our family and my mother, Liesel, loved all the Treuels! There were some really good times when the "Deutsche" all got together at the farm in Wakeman. I think Liesel may have been the source of the recipe for the chocolate roll, as that was (and still is) our special occasion dessert! I visited several times with Gertrud at Wesleyan; her smile and upbeat attitude never failed. It was such a pleasure to have her, s my mother's dear friend, to hold a conversation with - in German. I am sorry for your loss.
