Glenn Farrand Obituary
Glenn F. “Lefty” Farrand, 89, of Elyria, died December 18, 2020 at Mercy New Life Hospice, Lorain after a brief illness. He was born July 25, 1931 in Elyria and was a 1949 graduate of Elyria High School. He served with the US Army in Korea. After serving, he was employed by General Motors from where he retired. Glenn enjoyed traveling with his wife in their 5th wheel throughout the US and Canada. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He was an avid baseball and football fan, especially the Cleveland Indians. Glenn is survived by his wife of 25 years, Abbie (nee Hultz); children, Jane Corts, Judy (Jimmy) Kraps and John (Barbara) Corts; grandchildren, John (Keri) Corts, Michael Corts and Dale Crandall; and great-grandchildren, Fiona and Elara Corts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kyle and Margaret Farrand; sisters, Marian, Ruth and Jane and brothers, Bill and Lester. Friends will be received Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. COVID-19 precautions will be observed, face masks are required. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Elyria. Glenn’s family appreciates the care given to him by University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center and Mercy New Life Hospice.
