Gordon S. Doble died peacefully August 7, 2017 at his residence, Kendal of Oberlin. Born November 5, 1935 in Elyria, he is survived by his son, Tim Vereb; daughter-in-law, Jen and granddaughter, Alana. Graduate of MIT and PhD from Case Institute of Technology (Case Western), Gordon was a metallurgist at TRW for many years. He will be missed by many long time friends who shared his interests in downhill skiing, sailing, bicycling, hiking, travel, reading, and the Civil War. When not in Ohio, he enjoyed spending time in Ellicottville, the Chautauqua Institute (NY), Maine, and S. Carolina. Gordon will be sorely missed by his son, daughter-in-law, and adoring granddaughter, as well as dear companion, Pat Updegraff and bichon, Charlie of N. Carolina. Preceded in death by wife, Shirley Kiefer and parents, Stanley and Katherine (nee: Mosley). Gordon did not wish to have a service. Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Cleveland Sight Center or Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
