Grace T. Lynch, 90, of South Amherst, died February 9, 2015 in her home.She was born March 28, 1924 in South Amherst and was a graduate of South Amherst High School. She received a Bachelors Degree in education from The Ohio State University and two Masters Degrees from Ashland University. Grace taught for forty-one years, mostly in the Elyria City Schools, retiring in 1989. She enjoyed traveling, reading, sports and was an avid Ohio State University fan. For many years she and her husband raised and showed Cairn Terriers.Grace is survived by a daughter Patricia and son-in-law Patrick Baier of South Amherst; granddaughters Jessica (Wesley) Miller and Jennifer (Brian) Denes, both of Lorain; great granddaughters Lyra Paige Miller and Zoey Grace Miller; brother Glenn Thompson; sister Jean Meliti and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a husband of 56 years, Donald F. Lynch in 2004, parents Herbert and Anna Thompson and a sister June Cotleur.Private burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst. Memorial contributions may be made to Elyria City Schools Endowment Fund, 42101 Griswold Rd., Elyria, OH 44035. Arrangements were in the care of Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria.
