Harold A. Beckloff, 93, of Elyria died, November 15, 2013 at the home of his daughter in Ashland, Ohio. He was born October 21, 1920 in Elyria and was a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII serving in New Guinea, Philippines and Okinawa. Harold was employed for twenty one years as a diesel mechanic by Lyons Transportation before retiring in 1983 as garage supervisor. He was a life member of Elyria V.F.W. Post 1079, Elyria American Legion Post 12, The National Rifle Association and Ohio Gun Collectors Association. He had traveled throughout forty six states and until recently was bowling in several leagues.Harold is survived by daughters, Barbara (Anthony) Carpinelli of Cape Coral, Fl and Laura (Mike) Potts of Ashland, Ohio; son, Allan Forrest of Elyria; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; brother, Allen Beckloff of North Ridgeville and a sister, Marguerite Rothgery of Jonesboro, AR.He was preceded in death by his wives, Gloria and Mary Ellie; sons, Richard Beckloff and Thomas Beckloff and his wife, Joy and brothers, Norman, Robert and Kenneth Beckloff.Friends will be received Monday November 18, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Tuesday November 19, 2013 at 9:30 AM in the funeral home with Reverend Janet A. Long officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
