Harold Terry Obituary
Harold T. Tom Terry, 88, of Elyria, died December 20, 2012 at his home.He was born September 2, 1924 in Elyria and was a 1942 graduate of Elyria High School. He served with the U.S. Army in France and Central Europe during WWII and then received a bachelor degree from Miami University, Oxford, OH. Tom was formerly employed as office manager at Westside Lumber Company in Elyria and retired from Sears at Midway Mall. He was a life member of Wellington V.F.W. Post # 6941 and a member of the Elyria Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was an avid reader, especially Civil War history and also enjoyed bird watching. Tom is survived by his wife of 36 years, Juanita; daughter Jorja (Raymond) DiGeronimo of Elyria; son Timothy (Debra) Terry of Albuquerque, New Mexico; stepdaughters Connie Putnam pf Amherst, LuAnn Moran and Jackie Lassen, both of Elyria; stepson Bryon Clapp of Elyria; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Edna Terry; sister Geraldine Spaulding and a stepdaughter Debbie Slone.A service for the family will be Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Mr. Terrys nephew, Pastor Thomas Spaulding will officiate and Elyria V.F.W. #1079 will present military honors. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
