Hazel Nail Obituary
Hazel T. Nail (nee McNeal), 86, of Elyria, entered her eternal home March 3, 2017 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home after an extended illness from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. She was born January 18, 1931 in Rodgers, TN and was a resident of Elyria most of her life.Hazel was a longtime member of Lake Avenue United Church of Christ. She loved her Lord, traveling and making hand sewn quilts. She enjoyed spending time outdoors in the sunshine, tending to her flowers and watching the birds. Mother’s hands were always busy. As her children, we were blessed and thankful to call her mom. She was our role model, teacher, counselor and biggest cheerleader. “This is not goodbye, it’s till we meet again.” Survivor include sons David (Denise), Joe (Starr) and Kevin (Carol) Nail, all of Elyria; Mark (Dottie) Nail of Toledo, Rusty (Kelly) Nail of North Ridgeville, and Jason (Moriah) Nail of Hope Mills, NC; daughters, Linda Randolph of Crossville, TN, Donna Nail, Vickie (Edward) Chandler, Tammie (Chuck) Thompson and Charity (Keith) Ziegman, all of Elyria; brother, Carson (Lillie) McNeal of Elyria and an abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl J. Nail; sons Paul and Donald Nail; granddaughter, Erika Nail; Parents, Edward C. and Berta (nee Watson) McNeal and brothers, Clarence, Clifton, Condon and Kenneth McNeal and a sister, Helen McNeal. Hazel’s family extends their love and gratitude to the staff of Avon Oaks Nursing Home, who lovingly cared for her and her family so well. Their hugs and kindness will always be remembered.
