Helen Ketcham, 95, formerly of Medina County, died January 17, 2017 at Kendal at Oberlin where she had been a longtime resident. Helen was born July 16, 1921 in Norwood Park, Chicago. She earned a degree in Psychology from Northwestern University during the Depression, and later a Master's degree in Education from Kent State University. In 1943 Helen married Don Ketcham, a Northwestern classmate, and continued to live in Chicago while he served in the Navy. Together they raised their son Bob and daughter Jean in Lakewood. She welcomed Maren Ketcham and Jay Brockman when they married into the family, and dearly loved her grandchildren, Molly Ketcham and Abby and Sam Brockman. Helen worked for many years in the Cleveland Public Schools in Adult Education and was an active member of Westshore Unitarian Church. In 1974 Helen and Don moved again, to their new home on a 35 acre wooded farm in Litchfield where they raised Christmas trees.
