Helen L. Dunlap (nee Miko), 90, of Elyria, died July 12, 2013.She was born November 16, 1922 in Elyria, was an Elyria High School graduate and throughout the years, enjoyed attending Pioneer sporting events with her husband. She was formerly employed at Stanadyne Inc. and was a lifelong faithful member of Magyar United Church of Christ. Helen was a homemaker, mother and firemans wife and valued the family events of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Her hobbies of home decorating, lawn and garden care and her love of her Boston Terrier and German Shepherd dogs brought her much enjoyment.Helen is survived by a daughter Denise Ann (David) Meister of South Haven, MI; son Thomas A. (Susan) Dunlap of Mission Viejo, CA; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother William Miko of Elyria and nieces and nephews, including the Goodspeed family who loved and cared for her.She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joseph T. Tom Dunlap February 4, 2013; parents Alex and Helen Miko; sister Elizabeth Bako; brothers Alex Jr. and Steve Miko and Frank and Alex Takacs.Friends will be received Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of an 11:00 a.m. service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria, Oh 44035. Reverend Alana Kelley and Reverend David W. Meister, Helens son-in-law, will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
